Women have caught up to men when it comes to knocking back the drinks, a new study suggests. Men have historically been more likely to consume alcohol, but looking at data collected between 1948 and 2014 from around the world, Australian researchers have found that the gap has closed. Most of the “catching up” occurred after the mid-1960s because of a shift in marketing. More companies concentrated their efforts on encouraging women to join in on drinking. (Photo: FemSide)
