The Alberta government will spend $10 million to help the zoo prepare for a family of giant pandas, arriving in 2018.  The investment will also create 200 jobs during construction, as well as another 40 zoo related jobs. The new exhibits are expected to boost tourism in Calgary and increase the economic impact of the zoo to more than $95 million. The Calgary Zoo first housed pandas in 1988 and attracted a record number of visitors. (Photo: Toronto Zoo)
